Hyperscale cooling infrastructure for critical data centres
Exentec delivered high-quality process cooling water piping systems for major hyperscale data centre projects in South East Asia.
Project overview
The project supported mission-critical cooling infrastructure for hyperscale data centres in South East Asia. Exentec delivered large volumes of prefabricated PCW piping while accommodating design revisions and evolving construction priorities. The programme showcased Exentec's offsite manufacturing capabilities, combining engineering expertise, quality assurance and production planning to support complex data centre construction schedules.
The challenge
Our client's data centre developments in Malaysia and Thailand required the rapid fabrication and delivery of high-quality Process Cooling Water (PCW) piping spools to support critical cooling infrastructure. The project demanded strict quality standards, precise dimensional tolerances and aggressive delivery schedules, while minimising installation delays and maintaining full traceability throughout production.
Exentec's solution
Exentec provided end-to-end prefabrication services from its Singapore facility, including material preparation, precision fabrication, inspection, documentation and delivery. A dedicated project team coordinated production sequencing with construction activities, supported by rigorous QA/QC procedures, dimensional verification and comprehensive material traceability to ensure installation-ready piping assemblies
The results
Exentec's prefabrication approach improved installation efficiency by delivering piping assemblies ready for site installation. High dimensional accuracy reduced rework requirements, while reduced on-site welding improved productivity and safety. Timely deliveries helped maintain overall construction schedules and provided reliable support for a cooling system critical to continuous data centre operations
